Hokay!

First post in this blog...finally!
Turned over a few new leaves starting today and might as well use this fancy little blog spot in order to keep me honest.

So, first point of discussion...getting off the couch! I started tracking my caloric intake about a month ago just to see exactly what I was consuming. Through that, I've cut out just about all fast food (girl's gotta have her weaknesses...) and pop. Had to hang on through the holidays before really committing to anything. So, here we are, a few days after Christmas, and I can't make excuses anymore. I started my couch to 5k running program (more on that soon!)...which is absolutely going to take me longer than they allocate for you. How is it that I can walk all over the place and rock out some bikram yoga but I can't run? Frustrating. In any case, today I ran for 6 minutes and walked for 19. I'll probably do that little plan again before moving on to the next step (running for 8 minutes, walking for I'm not sure how long). I'd just straight up go back to yoga if I could...but Renegade Playground 5k is going to be happening in September and I don't want to be the team slowpoke-passer-outer.

I also bought a low carb, high protein meal replacement powder thing from Smoothie King today called Gladiator. Being vegetarian, I have issues with protein intake anyway. I'm planning on using this stuff as breakfast on the way to class in the morning and maybe lunch after my post-class run. We'll see what kind of results I get.

I have been dating my dear sweet bartender boyfriend for 2 years now...and the not-so-sweet side of dating a bartender is the access-to-beer weight I've put on. 2 year and 25 pounds later, I'm tired of it. The scale read 168.4 pounds this morning. The journey back to healthy and comfortable begins!
